My group and I have looked at the red alert rules and it talks about having two different types of cover that are hard and soft cover Is this all up to the GM to decide when creating the scenario? Like a tree might grant 1CD cover, a large rock 2CD, a steel door 3CD, etc etc? Does this also mean that if a player puts their character behind a large rock they can roll 2CD and get 1 resistance for each effect rolled? or do they get 2 resistance for each effect rolled? or, again, is this all up to the GM to determine beforehand? However it then goes to state this: "Each instance of Cover will grant a certain number of of Cover Dice (normally 1-4)." but no where in the book does it give examples of what kinds of things grant what sort of cover. Again, all this is fairly normal in an RPG. " This is all pretty normal and I take it to be the whole area is covered in fog which will grant cover or there are a bunch of rock formations you can take cover behind. A zone will either provide cover universally (granting the benefits of that Cover to any creature in the zone), or the Gamemaster may denote features within the zone that grant Cover (requiring that the character be within Reach of that feature to benefit). in the book it states "Cover provides additional Resistance against Attacks. My group and I have been struggling with cover dice rules and the book doesn't seem to be very specific on how it works.
